Cyber threats can be concealed in many ways. While the majority of antivirus software are able to detect malware using regular scans and real-time protection while boot-time scanning offers an additional level of protection against the most elusive threats.

A boot scan is a short examination of the computer system prior to Windows starts. This lets the software identify hidden malware without disrupting normal operation.
